Indian Team leaves for the England Tour

The Indian team leaves for the three-month long tour of England/ Ireland. The Indians will kick-off the series with a ODI against Ireland, followed with three ODI matches against South Africa, a lone match against Pakistan.

Then, they will move on to England to play three test matches. The test matches will be followed by an ODI match against Scotland and a seven-match ODI series against England.

The Indians leave for the long tour, once again raising the hopes of the cricket crazy Indian fans. The World cup is almost forgotten by almost all cricket playing countries, except probably the Sri Lankans and the Bangladeshis. The Australians would even have forgotten the triumph as it has become a habit for them to win. Similarly the other countries would have forgotten the losses as losing has been a habit for them.

The English team is on a high after their 3-0 triumph against the hapless Windies. The Indians promised much after the World cup debacle. But, nothing much has been done. Finally the selectors had found some courage to drop Sehwag. The other change being the promotion of Dhoni as vice-captain. But, are those changes sufficient enough to turn-around the fortunes of the Indian team? The 3-month tour will throw some heroes and prove some zeroes. Let us wait and watch the cricket festival.
