The following is the list of man of the match/ player of the match awards given for each game in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2009. The player of the match award recognizes mainly the player's contribution to the winning team. I personally feel that the man of the match award is lopsided and batsmen are the favourites to the award. The bowlers get the award only when they perform exceptionally well. Let us see how it goes in IPL 2009. Here is the list:

Jacques Kallis became the eleventh player to win two man of the match awards so far in IPL 2009 tournament.
Update after Match #50:

Yuvraj Singh also became the first player in IPL to record two hat-tricks of wickets. As he said himself in the match presentation, Yuvraj Singh may have to start bowling more than batting.
