India vs Bangladesh, India in Bangladesh Test Series (2007) - 2nd Test
Date: 25-29 May 2007

Day 3 (27 May 2007):

The Indians completed a convincing win, by an innings and 239 runs, well within 3 days. The Indians victory was well on the cards once they scored 600+ runs. But, I expected more resistance from the Bangladeshi batsmen. Instead, they succumbed, in just 38 overs in the first innings and lasted for 58 overs in the second innings.

Resuming on 58/5, they lost the wicket of Shakib immediately to the second delivery of the day from Zaheer Khan. The rest did not pose great problems to the Indian bowlers. Zaheer finished with 5 wickets, Kumble took 3 wickets, Ishant Sharma and RP Singh picked up one each.

Trailing by 492 runs, the Bangladeshis followed on. This time, they decided to take on the bowling. Interestingly, Javed Omar collected his pair, once again off the very first delivery of the innings from Zaheer. Two more wickets fell immediately and the score card read 10/3 in 4 overs. Then came the real assault from Ashraful. He scored 67 runs off just 41 deliveries. It is too good to last and the partnership of 81 runs was terminated by Kumble. Later in the innings, Mashrafe Mortaza played a good knock of 70 runs from just 68 balls. The Bangladeshis scored 253 runs in their second essay at 4.4 runs per over.
