Date: 29 October 2006
Catches : 0 / Stumpings : 0
Batting: 28 runs (23 balls), 4s: 2/ 6s: 0
Australia won by 6 wickets (with 26 balls remaining). India is knocked out of the tournament by finishing third in group A. Australia and West Indies qualify for the semis from group A and they will be playing New Zealand and South Africa from group B.
Dhoni, as usual, did his best to push up the score at the final overs before falling to a shocking lbw decision off the last ball. He got a big inside edge onto his toes, but was given out lbw. Australia made the target of 249 look very small with some aggressive batting against wayward Indian seamers, except Sreesanth who showed some courage and enthusiasm on his first match of the tournament.
